Ofrenda de Amor: Honoring Mothers & Babies
Ofrenda de Amor: Honoring Mothers & Babies
On October 15, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, we invite our community to come together in love and remembrance. Together we will build an altar, and this altar will honor the women who have died in childbirth and the babies we have lost during pregnancy or infancy—holding space for the stories, memories, and spirits we carry with us.
In Mexican tradition, altars (ofrendas) are created each year to honor our ancestors and those who have passed. They are filled with flowers, food, candles, gifts, photos, and offerings—symbols of love and memory. These altars remind us that those we have lost remain with us, and through remembrance we celebrate their lives and keep their spirits alive in our communities.
You are invited to bring offerings to contribute:
🌸 Flowers or fresh greenery
🕯️ Candles or incense
🍲 Food, drinks, or traditional offerings
🎁 Small gifts, toys, or symbolic objects
🖼️ Photos, images, names, or written messages
This altar will be a sacred space of reflection, connection, and care. Whether you bring something for the altar, sit in quiet prayer, or come to share stories and presence, your participation is welcomed.
Together, we will celebrate the lives of those no longer with us and reaffirm our commitment to remembering and supporting one another in community.
✨ All are welcome. Come as you are. ✨
Tia Jasmin will be making hot chocolate for those who attend, there will be pan de muerto (day of the dead sweet bread) and the altar will be available for you to visit Oct 15 - Nov 2

The Firmness of Being: Spirit, Memory, & Decolonial Healing
What does it mean to walk with the firmness of being in a world that fragments us?
How do we think, feel and remember decolonially — not as theory, but as embodied truth?
Join us for an intimate community circle where we will explore the meaning of the firmness of being — a deep, embodied remembering of who we are through ancestral medicine, decolonial thought, and Indigenous presence.
Together, we will begin a journey of returning to our roots through questions like:
What does it mean to walk with decolonial clarity in a world shaped by disconnection?
How do we begin to reclaim Indigenous and ancestral memory in everyday life?
What are the ethical, spiritual, and emotional foundations of traditional medicine?
How can we hold ourselves and one another through transition, grief, and reawakening?
This circle is an introduction to Indigenous Mexican medicine, guided by the spirit of community, humility, and shared learning. It’s a space for anyone who is seeking to reconnect with the wisdom of the body, the land, and lineage — whether it is known or still being remembered.
We will speak, feel, and reflect together. No performance. No hierarchy. Just real presence.
