Ofrenda de Amor: Honoring Mothers & Babies

Ofrenda de Amor: Honoring Mothers & Babies

On October 15, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, we invite our community to come together in love and remembrance. Together we will build an altar, and this altar will honor the women who have died in childbirth and the babies we have lost during pregnancy or infancy—holding space for the stories, memories, and spirits we carry with us.

In Mexican tradition, altars (ofrendas) are created each year to honor our ancestors and those who have passed. They are filled with flowers, food, candles, gifts, photos, and offerings—symbols of love and memory. These altars remind us that those we have lost remain with us, and through remembrance we celebrate their lives and keep their spirits alive in our communities.

You are invited to bring offerings to contribute:
🌸 Flowers or fresh greenery
🕯️ Candles or incense
🍲 Food, drinks, or traditional offerings
🎁 Small gifts, toys, or symbolic objects
🖼️ Photos, images, names, or written messages

This altar will be a sacred space of reflection, connection, and care. Whether you bring something for the altar, sit in quiet prayer, or come to share stories and presence, your participation is welcomed.

Together, we will celebrate the lives of those no longer with us and reaffirm our commitment to remembering and supporting one another in community.

✨ All are welcome. Come as you are. ✨

Tia Jasmin will be making hot chocolate for those who attend, there will be pan de muerto (day of the dead sweet bread) and the altar will be available for you to visit Oct 15 - Nov 2
